With Monaflex systems bead repairs are possible\u2026<\/p>\n<h5>Which part of the tyre is the bead?<\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.monaflex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Superficial-Bead-damage-300x200-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Superficial bead damage\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Whether you\u2019re looking at Bias or Radial ply tyres, the Bead\u00a0assemblies are composed of the same elements: Bead\u00a0toe, Bead\u00a0sole,\u00a0Bead\u00a0heal and\u00a0a continuous steel wrap that makes up the \u2018Bead\u00a0bundle\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Both Bias and Radial construction tyres have fabric plies that protect the body plies.\u00a0 The body plies \u201cwrap\u201d around the Bead\u00a0bundles and end in the Sidewalls of the tires.\u00a0 There are several types of rubber, of different hardnesses, that are designed to provide strength and stability to this area of the tire.<\/p>\n<h5>When can you repair bead damage?<\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.monaflex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Monaflex_XLBRS-System-7-200x300-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/>Bead\u00a0damage commonly occurs when fitting or lifting tyres. As damage in this area could affect the air-tight integrity of the tire, or its ability to hold-tight to the wheel, many tyres are needlessly discarded at this point.
